Logicomix by Apostolos Doxiadis & Christos Papadimitriou

Picture
"Recounts, in graphic novel format, the life of Bertrand Russell, mathematician and philosopher, and his life-long struggle to achieve perfect logic and ultimate truth."

Math teacher, Mr. Stephan Hautz, coaches Jr Boys Basketball. In his free time, he enjoys sports, math and making dinner. His preferred reading genre is nerdy sports fiction and non-fiction, but currently he's currently reading a lot of Dr Seuss, Eric Carle, and Sandra Boynton.

Of his selection, he explains: "It's a mixture of math, history, and philosophy, with great artwork. We all have a desire to prove something to be true or false, but what if we can prove it can't be proven?"

Watchmen by Alan Moore

Picture
"Exceptional graphic artwork brings to life the story of the Watchmen as they race against time to find a killer, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance."

Ms. Shaina Gleicher teaches Design and Technology and Robotics and sponsors the Robotics club. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing and mountaineering.

"I recently read my first graphic novel and really enjoyed it. I've hear a lot of good things about Watchmen, " reflects Ms. Gleicher. She is looking forward to discussing a new book with some bright young minds.
